Talking with Roxana (Elite Photobooth)
INTRODUCTION
A while back, I had the pleasure of speaking with Roxana, who started Elite Photobooth, at a time when having her own business was the best decision for her and her family.
I’d like to tell you about a woman’s life, from the moment she becomes a mother. Everything swirls, adjusts and molds around the little universe that is a baby.
Any other desires, goals, dreams – they all end up low on the priority list. But after a while, mom is ready for more. She wants to build, step by step, a better world for her family – somehow paving the way, by her own example, for the little wonder(s) who today take their first steps, but tomorrow will venture on their own path.
What we want for the little ones is for them to be sure that they can do anything, even set up their own business, so that they can get the income they want, but also have enough time to “live” or lead the life they want.
What should you know about Elite Photobooth?
The fact that you have the option to rent a special photo booth that prints premium quality photos on the spot (that last for years and years). We’re talking about a mobile photo studio that allows you to take, customize and print photos for events of all kinds – weddings, christenings, private parties, birthdays, banquets, product launches, promotional campaigns, festivals – wherever people gather and enjoy themselves.
The first event Roxana attended with her photo booth was a humanitarian event, a swimming competition for children with autism. It was wonderful, funny, full of smiles for the kids who had fun posing at the photo booth.
Let’s get to the interview!
Find out what Roxana thinks about entrepreneurship.
Manu: How did you decide to start this business?
Roxana: Before becoming a mother, my first passion was photography, a field in which I had 14 years of experience, but from which I took a break – during which time I turned my attention to teaching, educating and training children. I completed my Master’s degree in Educational Management, worked as a school principal, and am currently a teacher (but on parental leave – 2nd child).
At the beginning of my leave, I felt the need to rest for a while. Then, the thought that I still have 2 more years of leave, plus the need for activity, gave me the idea to combine my old passion with something that would allow me to pay attention to my children and match with the school schedule. I was looking for something that would take up less of my time and wouldn’t involve being away from the little ones for too long. Thus, the Photobooth Elite photo booth was born.
M: Did you ever think about giving up?
R: No, I haven’t thought about quitting because I’m convinced I can do beautiful things in this field.
M: What is the biggest challenge you face, as an entrepreneur, in your field?
R: Finding customers and differentiating ourselves from the competition. When someone asks for a recommendation on a group, for this type of service, there are a lot of responses, and it’s a challenge to stand out. So we looked to optimize the website, to be present online, on Facebook, and we started to make posts that say more about us, about the quality of the services we offer.
In this sense, one of the aspects that are to be taken into account when choosing a photo booth is first of all the quality of the photos, because – after all – that is what you are left with after the event. There are various printing techniques, and we use thermal printing, which is currently the best quality. So photos printed with Elite Photobooth are sharp, water-resistant, do not fade over time and do not deteriorate easily.
M: What do you do on days when you can’t find the motivation for the work you have to do (to keep your business afloat and help it grow)?
R: I don’t have those days. Simply put, if I want more, and I feel like it’s not happening the way I expect it to, I research and look for the best options to get there. For example, if I want more events, I try to be as active as possible, looking for solutions to increase the visibility of the business and get the right message out to people. That’s how things start to fall into place. That’s how I found you! [laughs…]
M: What is the most valuable lesson you have learned since you started your own business?
R: I’ve learned that at events like this, you have to come prepared. You can’t fail, but give people what they want instead. If for us it’s a simple event, for them it’s the most important day of their lives, and that’s a serious responsibility.
No matter what happens, you can’t let them down in the middle of the event. If something stops working, you can’t just say that it’s broken and shrug it off, but be prepared with a backup solution for anything.

M: What do you consider to be the most notable difference between being an employee or an entrepreneur?
R: You have freedom of choice. You can do whatever you want, in any direction, and you’re not limited in either ideas or putting them into practice. When you have your own business, you have more flexibility, but you also have responsibilities.
M: How would you characterize your business, in a word (except “quality”)?
R: Smiles.
M: What would you advise an entrepreneur who is just starting out?
A: Don’t give up! Even if they have moments when nothing materializes yet. They should always consider the field they are in, the competition, and continue with the efforts they are making, because they will see results – in time.
MY CONCLUSION-Support Small Businesses
After talking with Roxana, I realized that nowadays, we no longer dream of children who follow in our footsteps and take everything one level further, who become managers and have a successful career, but of happy people who feel fulfilled with every choice they make. At the same time, if the world of entrepreneurship is for you, surely you find a way to balance the other aspects of your life so that you can have everything you want. Is that a realistic goal? Yes! But it’s up to you to build the reality you want to live in.
Elite Photobooth Special Offer
Roxana presented me an interesting idea about those who would be interested in the photobooth and the fact that they can negotiate the rental price. If you want the photobooth at your special event, you can choose the right price according to your budget.
There is also a package for restaurants where events, parties, etc. are organized, that allows owners to rent the Elite Photobooth for a minimal price and include it in the services offered to those attending events in these locations. The booth can be a bonus (for 2 hours, for example) for those attending the event, and the logo of the restaurant, hotel can be printed on the photo frame.
